History of the Spring Fair
The Rugby Spring Fair has been held in the town on the Spring Bank holiday Monday, at Whitehall Recreation ground for the last 37 years except when it was temporarily moved to Oakfield Park for two years.
The Spring Fair is known for its family entertainment and is a very popular community event for the people and particularly the young people of Rugby. Previously run by the Rugby Webb Ellis Round Table until 2007 when the Rotary Club of Rugby Dunsmore was invited to take responsibility for the event.
In 2015 it was agreed that the three Rotary Clubs in Rugby would work together to spread the work amongst a wider group of volunteers. In 2025 Round Table, 41 Club and Lions will jointhe organising team to further expand our pool of volunteers.
The Spring Fair is a community event and any funds we raise are re-distributed mostly to local charities and, in addition, to some of the charities our Clubs support. These sums can amount to several thousand pounds.
The event is closely managed by our Clubs in compliance with Rugby Borough Council's Health and Safety requirements. Stewards are provided by our clubs to ensure you have an enjoyable and safe day out. Any litter is cleared after the close of the event.
